Who is this for?
This series is for riders aged 18 and up. While we love seeing young riders getting stoked, these sessions are designed specifically for adult learning styles and pacing.
Do I need previous experience?
Yes—but not a lot. This series is designed for experienced beginners (novices) through intermediate riders who have already spent some time on singletrack trails. You should have some prior experience riding off-road and managing basic obstacles.
Brand new to trails? If you have never ridden a mountain bike on dirt trails before, our Intro to MTB clinic is the perfect prerequisite to get you ready for this series!
What kind of bike do I need?
A dedicated mountain bike in good working order is required. Your bike must have knobby tires and at least a front suspension fork.
e-Bikes: Class 1 pedal-assist e-MTBs are welcome! However, Class 2 or 3 bikes (those with throttles) are not permitted for safety and trail access reasons.
🚫 Not Permitted: For safety reasons, hybrid, gravel, or department-store bikes are not allowed for these sessions.
What happens if I miss a class?
Because our groups are carefully balanced by skill level and progress based on the questions and goals of each group, we cannot offer partial refunds or "make-up" sessions in other groups if you miss a week. Your registration is for your specific 6-week block.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We ride! Our sessions are all-weather events, although we may modify for safety. We will postpone a session if conditions become unsafe for coached instruction (such as active lightning, extreme torrential downpours). If we do have to make a safety call, we will reach out via email and move the session to the designated Rain Date listed in your schedule.
What gear is required?
Helmet: A cycling-specific helmet (less than 5 years old) is mandatory.
Protection: While not required, we highly recommend knee pads and full-finger gloves for added confidence.
Rentals: StokedMTB does not provide rental bikes or helmets. Please ensure your gear is trail-ready before you arrive!
Location-Specific Access
The Pines (Woodstock): All participants must provide proof of a current Woodstock Cycling Club (WCC) membership or purchase a day pass.
Christie Lake (Dundas): Registration does not include park entry. Participants are responsible for paying admission at the gate. [Learn more here].

Who is the Progression Series Perfect For?
This program is for anyone who wants to ride the trails with more confidence, control, and flow—whether you're new to the sport or an experienced rider looking to refine your technique.
The Progression Series is for you if:
🚵 You’re new to mountain biking and want to learn the skills to ride singletrack safely and confidently.
🚵 You’ve been riding for a while but feel stuck—whether it’s cornering, technical climbs, or rolling over obstacles, you want to ride smoother and with more control.
🚵 You want to stop guessing and start progressing with expert coaching that makes learning easier, safer, and way more fun.
🚵 You’re ready to push your skills further—we keep the groups small so every rider is challenged at the right level.
🚵 You want to ride with a supportive crew—learning is way more fun when you're surrounded by people who cheer you on!
Okay, but is it right for me?
As long as you’ve got some time on the trails under your belt, we’ll take it from there. We take the guesswork out of assessing your skills by matching you with your crew at your exact level—from those finding their flow to intermediate riders looking for more technical lines.
This ensures you’re always in the "sweet spot" for growth: challenged enough to progress, but never so far out of your depth that you lose confidence. From hitting your first roll-in to refining your airtime, we’ll make sure you're in the right group to crush your personal goals.
Still unsure? Got questions?
Just ask—we’re here to help you find your line.
Brand new (or just plain nervous) on the dirt?
Our Intro to MTB events are the perfect starting point for new and nervous riders. If the lumps, bumps, and trees on that narrow ribbon of dirt have you questioning your life choices—we’ve got you. We’ll help you trade those trail nerves for total confidence in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
