Progression Series
Ready to stop guessing and start progressing?
The Progression Series is a six-week journey designed to transform your riding.Whether you’ve been on the trails for a few months or a few years, this series helps you break through plateaus, boost your confidence, and maximize your flow.
We know every rider is different. That’s why we organize our small, supportive groups by skill level—ensuring beginners can build foundations at their own pace, while more experienced riders are appropriately challenged. No judgment, no intimidation—just the right level of progression for you.
What We’ll Master:
Each two-hour session focuses on the essential techniques that make mountain biking feel effortless:
Stability & Control: Refine your body position for all types of terrain.
Flow & Momentum: Master braking and gear selection to keep your momentum.
Cornering: Learn to lean, look, and flow through berms and switchbacks.
Technical Features: Safely develop skills to tackle obstacles like roots, wheel lifts, drops, and jumps.
Over six weeks, you’ll gain the muscle memory and "trail vision" needed to unlock a whole new level of riding stoke! And make new riding friends!
2026 Schedule:
Guelph Lake: Mondays, 6:00-8:00 PM (May 4 – June 8) | Rain Date: June 15
The Pines (Woodstock): Wednesdays, 6:00-8:00 PM (May 6 – June 10) | Rain Date: June 17
Christie Lake (Dundas): Thursdays, 6:00-8:00 PM (May 7 – June 11) | Rain Date: June 18
Who is this for?
This series is for riders aged 18 and up. While we love seeing young riders getting stoked, these sessions are designed specifically for adult learning styles and pacing.
Do I need previous experience?
Yes—but not a lot. This series is designed for experienced beginners (novices) through intermediate riders who have already spent some time on singletrack trails. You should have some prior experience riding off-road and managing basic obstacles.
Brand new to trails? If you have never ridden a mountain bike on dirt trails before, our Intro to MTB clinic is the perfect prerequisite to get you ready for this series!
What kind of bike do I need?
A dedicated mountain bike in good working order is required. Your bike must have knobby tires and at least a front suspension fork.
e-Bikes: Class 1 pedal-assist e-MTBs are welcome! However, Class 2 or 3 bikes (those with throttles) are not permitted for safety and trail access reasons.
🚫 Not Permitted: For safety reasons, hybrid, gravel, or department-store bikes are not allowed for these sessions.
What happens if I miss a class?
Because our groups are carefully balanced by skill level and progress based on the questions and goals of each group, we cannot offer partial refunds or "make-up" sessions in other groups if you miss a week. Your registration is for your specific 6-week block.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We ride! Our sessions are all-weather events, although we may modify for safety. We will postpone a session if conditions become unsafe for coached instruction (such as active lightning, extreme torrential downpours). If we do have to make a safety call, we will reach out via email and move the session to the designated Rain Date listed in your schedule.
What gear is required?
Helmet: A cycling-specific helmet (less than 5 years old) is mandatory.
Protection: While not required, we highly recommend knee pads and full-finger gloves for added confidence.
Rentals: StokedMTB does not provide rental bikes or helmets. Please ensure your gear is trail-ready before you arrive!
Location-Specific Access
The Pines (Woodstock): All participants must provide proof of a current Woodstock Cycling Club (WCC) membership or purchase a day pass.
Christie Lake (Dundas): Registration does not include park entry. Participants are responsible for paying admission at the gate. [Learn more here].
