Intro to XC at BikeFest

CA$99.00

New to mountain biking and curious about cross-country riding? Our Intro to XC clinic at BikeFest is designed for beginners — the perfect way for new and nervous riders to build confidence and discover the fun of trail riding.

📅 Date: Saturday, September 13
⏰ Times: 10:00–12:00 | 1:30–3:30
📍 Location: Horseshoe Bike Park Skills Area + Copeland Forest

In this 2-hour group lesson, you’ll start in the Horseshoe Skills Area, where our StokedMTB instructors will introduce the fundamentals of XC riding in a safe and supportive environment. Then, we’ll take it across the road into Copeland Forest for some real-world application on beginner-friendly trails — putting your new skills into practice at your own pace.

Meet-up:
Meet at the StokedMTB tent at 15 minutes before your session, ready to roll with your bike, your helmet and water bottle. And your adventurous spirit!

What to Expect:

  • Foundational skills: body positioning, braking, and gearing basics

  • Cornering techniques to ride with more control and flow

  • Trail scanning and line choice to make smart riding decisions

  • Short XC trail ride in Copeland Forest to apply your new skills

  • Small group size for plenty of coaching and feedback

What You Need:

  • A mountain bike in good working order (disc brakes, knobby tires wider than 2”)

  • Helmet (full-face or trail helmet accepted)

  • Knee and elbow pads (recommended – demo gear available first-come, first-served)

  • Mountain biking shoes and pedals (flats recommended, clipless if preferred)

  • Water bottle or hydration pack for the trail portion

All genders welcome. Ages 18+.

If you’ve been wanting to try mountain biking but didn’t know where to start, this is your chance. Build skills, confidence, and stoke with Intro to XC at BikeFest!
