











Intro to XC at BikeFest
New to mountain biking and curious about cross-country riding? Our Intro to XC clinic at BikeFest is designed for beginners — the perfect way for new and nervous riders to build confidence and discover the fun of trail riding.

⏰ Times: 10:00–12:00 | 1:30–3:30
📍 Location: Horseshoe Bike Park Skills Area + Copeland Forest
In this 2-hour group lesson, you’ll start in the Horseshoe Skills Area, where our StokedMTB instructors will introduce the fundamentals of XC riding in a safe and supportive environment. Then, we’ll take it across the road into Copeland Forest for some real-world application on beginner-friendly trails — putting your new skills into practice at your own pace.
Meet-up:
Meet at the StokedMTB tent at 15 minutes before your session, ready to roll with your bike, your helmet and water bottle. And your adventurous spirit!
What to Expect:
Foundational skills: body positioning, braking, and gearing basics
Cornering techniques to ride with more control and flow
Trail scanning and line choice to make smart riding decisions
Short XC trail ride in Copeland Forest to apply your new skills
Small group size for plenty of coaching and feedback
What You Need:
A mountain bike in good working order (disc brakes, knobby tires wider than 2”)
Helmet (full-face or trail helmet accepted)
Knee and elbow pads (recommended – demo gear available first-come, first-served)
Mountain biking shoes and pedals (flats recommended, clipless if preferred)
Water bottle or hydration pack for the trail portion
All genders welcome. Ages 18+.

Each Intro To XC session requires a minimum of 2 participants. If this minimum is not met, the session will be cancelled and registered riders will receive a full refund.
All genders welcome, ages 18+. Equipment rentals and lift tickets are not included in your registration for this StokedMTB group lesson.
